Without exaggerating, absolutely the best concert I've seen. Here are some observations/comments in no particular order: I don't know if this show actually sold out or not, but it was PACKED. By far a much louder and noiser crowd than I expected. In the flesh - Roger twisted the lyrics from both parts of the song.. "..you'll have to just claw your way through this diguise" followed immediately by ".. are there any queers..". It was nice to hear something different! Mother - Roger fooled with a 6-string guitar for Mother and another song (don't remember which one, possibly part of Another Brick in the Wall) I was surprised at the lack of a light show and/or props. I was more surprised at the quality of the music, the intensity of it all, and most of all - Roger himself! The man was ON this day friends. Anyone who had any suspicions of him losing his voice (particularly considering some of the poor vocals on Amused to Death) fear not. CD quality... but much better! It was also surprising that the two best songs of the concert (in my opinion of course) were by no means radio favorites. During Every Strangers Eyes, he hit some of the best vocals of the night, prompting huge roars from the crowd. Perfect Sense must've been a close second. And last, it was great to see how much he SMILED during the show, as if he was actually having lots of fun. Right before the Comfy Numb encore, he took the mike and said "I've done some interviews recently where I've talked about the Magic being gone from this. But we definately found some of that magic here this evening." And he was absolutely right! WC --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- Share what you know. Learn what you don't.
